Giulia Bianchi was born in Genova, Italy.
She graduated in June 2011 from the social-documentary program at the International Center of Photography in New York.
She’s a documentary photographer currently working on a long term project about her homeland called Liguria and in particular its people’s struggle with themselves and with nature.
She’s experimenting with new narrative forms in photography and getting upset with re-enforcing of stereotypes in photojournalism.
She’s available for worldwide assignments as freelancer photographer.

In May 2011, she was selected as finalist in the Luceo Student Award 2011 and her project “I am Somebody” (about the new generation of Drag Queens in New York) was shown at the Look3 photofestival in Charlottesville Virginia USA.
